1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Canonball ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Canonball is a literary companion application that allows users to track reading, discover Kindle and Audible Whispersync pairings, build vocabulary, and participate in book clubs. The Service is available via canonball.io and on mobile platforms.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using Canonball, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.

4. Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You may not share your account or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. User Content

You may submit content to Canonball, including book reviews, club posts, and pairing submissions ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you:

• Grant Canonball a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and use that content within the Service.
• Represent that you have the right to submit that content.
• Agree not to submit content that is illegal, abusive, defamatory, or infringes on the rights of others.

We reserve the right to remove any User Content at our discretion.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service without permission
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
• Use the Service to spam, harass, or harm other users

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code comprising the Canonball Service (excluding User Content and third-party book data) is owned by Canonball and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

8. Third-Party Content

Book metadata, cover images, and related content are sourced from third-party providers including Google Books. We do not own this content and make no warranties about its accuracy or completeness.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Canonball shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the applicable courts of the United States.
